Why I chose Wix Studio
I chose Wix Studio because it fits the way I like to think and design. Its blank canvas approach allows me to visualise ideas from the very beginning and create each website with complete creative freedom.
At the same time, it offers everything needed to build professional, responsive websites that are easy to manage and update. From design and content management to hosting and business tools, everything is brought together in one platform.
I studied Media Management at the Schule für Gestaltung in Bern, while working in Marketing and Communications at Leica Camera and now work independently as a freelance designer.
When choosing a platform for my clients and myself, I wanted something that combines creative freedom with powerful tools and long-term flexibility. That's why I chose Wix Studio.
What I appreciate most is how naturally it fits my design process. Instead of separating a project into concept, design and development, I can work visually from the very beginning. Starting with a blank canvas allows ideas to evolve organically, making the creative process more open, flexible and intuitive. Unlike many website builders that rely heavily on pre-made templates, Wix Studio gives me the freedom to shape every layout around the content and the people who will use it.
The focus stays on good design rather than working around technical limitations. At the same time, it provides everything needed to build a modern website in one place. Responsive layouts, multilingual websites, a powerful CMS, SEO tools, blogs, forms, bookings and online shops are all built into the platform. Everything works together seamlessly, without the need to combine multiple systems. For my clients, this also means that managing the website is straightforward. Once the site is complete, content can easily be updated without technical knowledge. It's designed for custom websites with more flexible layouts, responsive design across all screen sizes and advanced tools for creating unique, scalable websites. Can I update the site myself later on?
Yes, absolutely. After the website is built, I give you and your team a basic training session so you can make small updates and changes yourself. I also offer ongoing support if you need help down the line.

How I got into web design
I signed up to Wix.com on a Wednesday in October 2017 and created my first website. It was an imaginary pizzeria.
After that I kept making up businesses to build websites for. A few years later I even started redesigning other people's Wix websites just for myself. Looking back it was probably a huge waste of time but it was also the best way to learn the platform and discover all of its hidden features.
When Wix.com launched Editor X just as the pandemic began I switched over and continued learning about responsive design and layouts. When Editor X later became Wix Studio I already felt completely at home with the platform.
In 2021 I launched my first official client websites and I've been fortunate to keep making websites for people and business I admire and love working for ever since. I became a Wix Partner in 2023 and a certified Wix Studio Web Designer in 2025.
Process
01 - First conversation
First we meet, ideally in person or via video call, and have a little chat. This first conversation is about getting a sense of what you're looking for, and whether what I offer is a good fit.
02 - Understanding & Scope
We then start by looking at what the website needs to do. Who it’s for, what it should communicate, and what content already exists. This helps define a clear direction and keeps everything focused from the beginning.
03 - Structure & Content
Together we outline the structure of the site, including pages, navigation and content. This step helps organise what needs to be said and how it should be presented, so the site feels clear and easy to navigate.
04 - Visual Direction
Based on your brand or the direction we take a look at how the website should come across. This sets the visual tone and ensures the design is consistent with your identity.
05 - Design & Layout
I design the key pages and layouts. We review and refine the design together until everything feels right before moving into the build.
06 - Build in Wix Studio
The website is then further built from scratch in Wix Studio. I translate the design into a fully functional, responsive site that works smoothly across different screen sizes and devices. At this stage all pages are created, based on the design and layout we defined in step 5.
07 - Content & CMS Setup
Once the structure is in place, we bring in your final content and organise it within the site. This includes setting up the CMS where needed, so you can easily manage and update content over time.
08 - Review & Launch
We test the site, make final adjustments and prepare everything for launch. The launch in Wix Studio follows a clear process, including final checks, site settings, cookies, basic SEO setup and either connecting an existing domain or setting up a new one within Wix Studio and/or your hosting provider.
09 - Handover & Support
After the launch, you receive access to your website and your client area, where everything is organised in one place, including links, settings and useful resources. I'll also give you and your team a basic training session so you can manage and update your site over time.
