Websites
I design and build websites that bring together visual identity, content and functionality in one considered experience. Each site is shaped around the project, from the way it looks and feels to the platform it's built on, creating something functional, manageable and made to develop over time.
I studied Media Management at the Schule für Gestaltung in Bern, while working in Marketing and Communications at Leica Camera and now work independently as a freelance designer.
Before my time, websites were becoming a new kind of home. For the first time people had the possibility to create their own place on the World Wide Web where anyone anywhere at any time could find them and see what they wanted to share. Some wrote about their travels. Some shared photos of their pets. Others built fan pages for their favourite bands movies or sport clubs.
As the years passed the internet changed and changed and changed. Social media arrived. Smartphones became part of everyday life and endless feeds replaced simple searches, although websites never disappeared. Behind every modern website there is still a web page connected to an address that belongs to you. It is one of the few places online where you decide what people see how they see it and how long it stays there.
Today the first and ninth letters of the alphabet are everywhere. People discover people news and businesses through search social media and chatbots before they ever visit a website. But that has not made websites unnecessary. If anything it has made them even more important. They are the place where both people and chatbots go to understand who you are what you do and whether they can trust you.
I see two main jobs websites have today. First they should inform. They should clearly explain who you are what you offer and what makes you different. Second they should build trust. When someone arrives from social media your website is where first impressions become lasting ones. And with the tools we have today, a lovely bonus is that websites can finally also look beautiful.

FAQ
What kind of websites do you design?
I design modern, responsive websites for individuals, associations and businesses. Each site is personalised to your content and audience, with an emphasis on clarity, design and usability.
What platform do you use?
Depending on the project, I’ll create your website in Wix Studio, Webflow or Squarespace, with Wix Studio being my preferred choice for many projects, while each platform offers its own strengths when it comes to design, functionality and complexity.
Can I update the site myself later on?
Yes, absolutely. After the website is built, I give you and your team a basic training session so you can make small updates and changes yourself. I also offer ongoing support if you need help down the line.
Who have you worked with?
I work with individuals, small businesses, associations, cultural institutions and organisations across Switzerland and the UK. My clients come from a wide range of fields, including music, culture, publishing and education. While their work may be very different, they all share the same goal: a clear, thoughtful website that reflects who they are and what they do in an authentic way.

How I got into web design
I signed up to Wix.com on a Wednesday in October 2017 and created my first website. It was an imaginary pizzeria.
After that I kept making up businesses to build websites for. A few years later I even started redesigning other people's Wix websites just for myself. Looking back it was probably a huge waste of time but it was also the best way to learn the platform and discover all of its hidden features.
When Wix.com launched Editor X just as the pandemic began I switched over and continued learning about responsive design and layouts. And then over time, my work naturally expanded beyond Wix. Different projects and previous roles introduced me to other platforms and environments, each with their own way of working.
Learning to adapt to these different tools has broadened how I approach web design today. Since 2021, I’ve been fortunate to create websites for people and businesses I admire, while becoming comfortable moving between different platforms depending on the project and client.

Process
01 - First conversation
First we meet, ideally in person or via video call, and have a little chat. This first conversation is about getting a sense of what you're looking for, and whether what I offer is a good fit.
02 - Understanding & Scope
We then start by looking at what the website needs to do. Who it’s for, what it should communicate, and what content already exists. This helps define a clear direction and keeps everything focused from the beginning.
03 - Structure & Content
Together we outline the structure of the site, including pages, navigation and content. This step helps organise what needs to be said and how it should be presented, so the site feels clear and easy to navigate.
04 - Visual Direction
Based on your brand or the direction we take a look at how the website should come across. This sets the visual tone and ensures the design is consistent with your identity.
05 - Design & Layout
I design the key pages and layouts. We review and refine the design together until everything feels right before moving into the build.
06 - Build & development
I then translate the design into a fully functional, responsive site that works smoothly across different screen sizes and devices. At this stage all pages are created, based on the design and layout we defined in step 5.
07 - Content & CMS Setup
Once the structure is in place, we bring in your final content and organise it within the site. This includes setting up the CMS where needed, so you can easily manage and update content over time.
08 - Review & Launch
We test the site, make final adjustments and prepare everything for launch. We'll follow a clear process, including final checks, site settings, cookies, basic SEO setup and either connecting an existing domain or setting up a new one.
09 - Handover & Support
After the launch, you receive access to your website and your client area, where everything is organised in one place, including links, settings and useful resources. I'll also give you and your team a basic training session so you can manage and update your site over time.

Wix Studio
Wix Studio has been at the heart of my web design work since I started creating websites professionally. Over the years, I've come to know the platform in depth and still choose it for many projects today.
Its combination of creative freedom, responsive design tools and an approachable content management experience makes it particularly well suited to projects where design and ease of use need to work closely together.
While I work across different platforms depending on the needs of a project, Wix Studio remains an important part of my toolkit and a platform I know particularly well.
